The last few days

Yesterday we took K to the air and space museum and the native american museum followed by an afternoon in Georgetown. She loved the two mules we spotted near the river and so we went down and petted them and looked at them until they went home (she even bought a horse ornament for the holidays and carried him around everywhere) The horse love continues... At lunch we went to this place that happened to be filming a movie or tv show so everytime the director said and action K would repeat and really loudly.

Today we went to the National art gallery which she loved and spent some time talking to a group of girls who she had to sit near (they were in their early 20s) and ran around looking for dog, horse and baby pictures. She insisted on getting her crayons and paper out as well and spent some time in the rooms and in her stroller drawing. We went to Bistro D'Oc again for a yummy lunch and Pmogi took us on a tour at the capitol. It was a wondereful tour and as pmogi is interning at a CA senator's office we got to go to their office and check out the Capitol. It was great.

Unfortunately K has had a hard time with this trip and really not been herself. A lot of fussing and frustration of the limits we have had to set because of the city. Her happiest times have been in the hotel. Last night pmogi came over after K was in bed so T and I could go out. We had a great time hitting up some of the local spots in Adams Morgan, but when we got home K had woken up. She spent 90 minutes crying to get out of her bed. Although we put her to bed immediately after getting home (she had been up 10 minutes) the concierge called and woke her up. ARGH! As we told her she had to sleep in her bed she got very frustrated and really wanted out. It was horrible to see her sad and a mistake on our parts to think she could get comfy in a strange bed. We are going to Annapolis tomorrow and are hoping to have a quieter day so she can have a bit of fun.
