holiday shopping

Today T decided to take K to get presents for mommy. At dinner we were chatting about the adventures (I took the afternoon to wander around Los Gatos for some final shopping) and T is telling K to not tell Mommy what they bought... It is a secret!!!! K points at my feet and says sock and then looks at me and says buy sock buy socks mama... I guess we know what one of my presents will be... It was really funny. Of course the laughing just made her keep repeating that I will be receiving socks. (I found a beautiful horse picture for her room in downtown Los Gatos today. She is going to love it).

This morning I told her there are two days until Christmas. All day whenever you ask how many days until Christmas she says two very excitedly.

K's school party was a giant hit yesterday! She loved the presents and the sweets and singing Christmas songs and dancing. We have a great great daycare. The teacher's helper gave K a purse which she just loves. She is carrying it around everywhere and keeps telling us bye because she is going shopping to buy apples... She then brings us back apples to eat.

She also got to see one of my closest friends who lives in LA... She told her she loved her and played train. It was really cute to see.

our horse lover (thank you lady m for the pic)

SO excited!!

We took K to see holiday lights earlier this week... Giant hit. She loves Christmas.... Loves the lights, loves the presents, parties and loves not talking to Santa! Today we are going to a party at school and she talked about the party all morning.

She also has developed a great interest in dressing herself... We have gone to school with a pair of pants (dress on top, shirt on top of dress, followed by her favorite tank top and two different colored socks.) She looks amusing. Who knew I should have been dressing her exactly as I wanted at 6 months as now she is busy picking her own fashions. Setting trends I guess. No skinny jeans or tunics yet, but she does like her round toed boots...

Pmogi and I went to Carmel for a lovely lovely day yesterday. We stopped of in Gilroy for our favorite outlet shop (banana republic) and then headed to Carmel for a yummy lunch at a French cafe, wandered around town and the beach, and finished with a great dinner at Spanish Bay. The gingerbread house above is one of many on display at the inn created by their pastry chef. They were really pretty and pmogi and I decided we would make one with K next year. Ours will have more of an artistic flair...

K finishes school today and is off through the 2nd so a lot of family adventures ahead...

The biggest news (we are no longer sleeping in Siberia).... Tmobro gave me one of my Christmas presents early.... (FLANNEL SHEETS!!! K loves them and pets the soft sheets. She has also requested a pair... Must get looking) Thanks tmobro!!! We love them.

Happy holidays more pics from tb

weekend fun!!!

It is hard to believe the year is ending and Christmas is just around the corner. K is so excited about Christmas and has been asking us to take her for walks every evening to look at the Christmas lights in the neighborhood. She loves LOVES to sing Christmas songs, particularly Jingle Bells. We look at all lights and trees wherever we go. Today when we were on the way to school she looked at someone’s display that was off and said nice! It is quite funny. We didn’t expect her to understand Christmas this year, but she loves all of it!

We had a nice weekend finishing our holiday shopping, meeting friends and visiting the farmers market. T and I even snuck to the city for an awesome dinner and late night light viewing thanks to pmogi and grandma. K really enjoyed buying presents for everyone and of course tried to convince us of a couple purchases for her by saying buy buy with some random thing she picked up as we wandered. We also took her for a coffee which she is really starting to love as we have been allowing her to get some whipped cream.

K was not too traumatized by our Europe adventure. The last couple days she has been asking to go back to the airport and to get on an airplane. I think she must want to go to Hawaii in January…

The weekend ended with a wonderful Christmas party with the mommy group. K loved the rocking horse they had and was really disappointed when it ended. As were getting in the car she asked to go back to the party and decided we had to have a party at our house! It is amazing to see all the little babies as they are now such toddlers. We got really lucky to be with such a wonderful group of people. Pictures soon.

Reading to her friends

K has taken a really mommy approach to her doll and kitties. The poor little ones go to the bathroom a lot and need lots of fresh diapers. She spends much of her time with them mimicing us " see, careful big fall" "oh no poo poo" "one minute" "lay down" "full diaper - throw away" "sit still - eat" and the list goes on...

Yesterday I caught her reading to them on her favorite blanket...
