Long weekend

Even with the freezing cold weather... we still managed to walk into town for an ice cream treat, go out for sushi, take the train to cafe borrone and keplers for storytime as they were reading the Cordoruy series, some our favourite books. We also took a hike at Rancho only to discover the farm closes at 4pm (animal sightings on our walk included a gopher, a deer, and squirrels). K walked from the farm back to the car without being carried which was definitely one of the longest stretches ever... When we took the train to Keplers, K mentioned she wanted to get off at downtown Palo Alto so we closed the weekend with a final train day. We decided to go back to Palo Alto for Coupa, Stanford Shopping Center and we left with eek... new blankets for our baby dolls... K loves pottery barn kids.. I think she just thinks it is a playground. Just after we agreed to the blankets she just started to walk out and we had to point out this too was a shop and we had to buy the blankets...

These dollies are living the life of luxury (well most of the time). Last night K spent most of the early evening telling us they had to throw up and so the dollies spent most of the night sick on their blankets and towels.

Dentist

K and Daddy had their third dentist visit this week... she loves the experience... Our fantastic doctor who has given us great advice on mom's groups and everything else produced an incredible dentist recommendation....

They sent K a book with her name printed in it about a year ago to prepare her for the visit.. I HATE the dentist and so I HATED having to read the book over and over, but I did....

Luckily T and I decided I would not be able to take K to the dentist as I would definitely influence her experience.... Anyway she loves it... on her most recent visit she came over with her new dora toothbrushes, stickers a perfect and cleaner smile.... but the most important thing... she didn't pick her standard stuffed animal from the toy basket... We now have a beautiful red sparkly ball. She even had to lift a stuffed animal to get to the ball and she still picked the ball. Fingers crossed this is a new trend. We have way too many stuffed animals in our life. Also, fingers crossed she continues to love the dentist. Luck is on our side as our dentist has two rocking horses so what more do we really need.

Bunk beds and highchairs

We went shopping for our babies ... butterfly, pink baby, blue baby, kevin, lucy, new kevin, anna, brooke and maxine this weekend... and we found bunkbeds.... EEKK! K is stoked and keeping our babies in there... well at least the ones she knows won't fall out... We found her on the floor snuggled next to them with her blanket at naptime instead of in her bed... she said she was worried some of the babies would fall out and so she had to keep them safe.

The highchair is with us at every meal and must remain at the table at all times. Mommy moved it... you can guess how well received that was!

Congrats Pmogi

Yesterday Pmogi graduated from CAL!!! We started the day celebrating at La Note, a cute french breakfast place with great food... We went on to Brewed Awakening in North Berkeley for one last visit to Pmogi's favorite coffee shop... very good coffee, and finally hit the Rose gardens before the awesome graduation...........

Sex in the City

There is an early screening in SF this weekend http://www.dailycandy.com/t/click/7/F238453/1918033/18... Exciting! However going would mean I really can't justify going to Manhattan to see the movie at a theatre there... The countdown is on!

Mommy I need privacy please

K has learned how to open and close doors and she is thrilled.... She discovered her new skill last weekend and spent a lot of time leaving rooms closing the door and popping back in within seconds. The other day when she was going potty she requested that I stand right outside the door... because after all "Mommy, I need my privacy"

Gma C has been here for a week and K is having a great time... They are very busy taking care of all the dollies in the house and playing hide and seek. This morning I heard a conversation between the two of them...

Gma C: K did you get up last night
K: Yes, and Mommy came in my room and stayed a long long time! (Let's just say this morning's gym session was miserable)

They are definitely the two girls in the house...

Breakfast at Cafe Brioche with M&J and Lucy, one of our many many dollies we love oh so much!

K learned how to pump herself on the swings this week... We took her to the park on Saturday to show off her new skills with Sab. The two are attached at the hip these days and we had a really nice picnic after the park.

She has fallen in love with ball games after a park playdate with Pet yesterday. We played golf and baseball before leaving the house this morning.

The other awesome part of the weekend... Cherries! T brought us home a bag of cherries on the way home from golf. K has finished 90% of them. It is spring even if the weather isn't cooperating.

K may not be a dentist after all

K: Mommy... Why are you putting your hands in your mouth?
M: Because I am flossing.
K: Your hands are going to get wet.
M: Flossing is important
K: Mommy, only babies put their hands in their mouth.
M: Flossing is important
K: Ok, can I floss too?
M: Do you want help?
K: No, I will do it by myself!

We spent the evening together and K even chose to stay home with her parents over a playdate. A first for everything I guess. She helped unpack, clean the house and asked for an early bedtime. Definitely a strange evening.

We could live in LA!
