We are having a mommy week. K’s cold is getting to her spirits and she has been very irritable and wants to be held primarily by mommy. The gym trips and leaving for work is causing tears – very sad! The other big issue is that she has been staying up past bedtime for the last couple weeks due to needing to go to the bathroom before bed. The change in routine is strange as we are so used to bedtime being like clockwork. Shows what we get for expecting the norm with anything… Luckily we have a long weekend coming up!!! An extra day of family time – Fantastic!!!

MoCa is also no longer just Meow Meow – she is now MoCa in K's eyes!!! Ok some form of MoCa, but her name has changed. In honor of MoCa a picture of our other beautiful girl… She loves to play in warm laundry

Giggles

Last night when I came home from work K and T were waiting near the garage for me. When I pulled up K laughed so hard that it made me realize once again why you do everything you can for your little one and how their laughter and happiness is the most awesome thing in the world.

K still has a runny nose. This morning when we were laying in bed reading books she grabbed my shirt so she could wipe her nose on it. She is very good about if you ask her to wipe her nose, grabbing a cloth and wiping. Let's hope the cold is gone soon.

This morning before I left for work she asked to run with the wagon and Malcolm around the island. She loves to have us walk with her and Malcolm around the island followed by the wagon. Definitely a huge amount of shrieking.

Weekend pics (K and MoCa playing)

K goose got her first tattoos at Tmobro's company picnic. We had to wash them off yesterday during bath time, but she was so excited to get her arms painted that she sat still for all of it. She got a flower first and loved it so much she got her other arm painted with a ladybug. She kept checking on them and sharing them with us and other people she saw. When it was time to wash them off she waved bye bye to them.

She has become very empathetic lately and whenever she hears a baby crying she also says baby and pretends to cry. Yesterday at the art and wine she went up to a baby yesterday who was sitting in their stroller and pointed out the girl’s owwie and put a sticker on top of it. She had a great time at the festival searching for balloons, playing with a kitchen in a toy store, sharing an ice cream and watching some great dancing.

We also went to Borrone and Keplers over the weekend and K was simply fascinated with a book that had a lamb falling in muck. We have been carrying the book everywhere and looking at the lamb in the muck! She really enjoys our visits there as they have a little table and chairs to sit near and Borrone always means yummy treats. I of course also like it.

We got to do a photo shoot with a friend who is spending more time on photography. K sat for three hours during a photo shoot- mainly because we brought a lot of toys and she got to play with some new ones that our friend brought. Can’t wait to see the pics.

NC and the last few days.

The trip to NC was fantastic. We had a great time doing a variety of girlie things like a spa day with a facial and massage, beautiful hikes, nice meals, wedding dress shopping, Farington Farms to see the little goats and cows, high tea at the Carolina Inn, shopping at a variety of outdoor malls, Chapel Hill etc and a major adventure to find ice cream from the Chapel Hill Creamery on a beautiful porch with rows of rocking chairs overlooking fields. It was wonderful to see R and get some time together. We are going to meet again in DC so she can meet K goose and we will be out in June for the wedding.

The last few days with K have been very nice. She had a great meal a couple days ago when we ate dinner with both grandmas and she ate two eggs and half an ear of corn complete with cashews. After each bite she clapped and threw her hands in the air squealing and expected the same from everyone. If we didn't clap she looked at us until the applause started. It was hilarious.

She is still getting up at night every few nights. Let's hope that goes away soon... She has also started to love back rubs and lays down and says back and waits for her back to be rubbed. Very funny...

Anna (the new doll) is quite a hit and has been sleeping with K every night. When K got up last night after spending some time with her I told her that Anna was going to help her sleep and she needed to get back to bed with her. Luckily it worked.

I took her to Kepplers and Borrone and she loved the scone and eggs and wandering around the water. She was quite the big girl. The bookstore was a huge hit where we found a book about a lamb who fell in the muck. She talked about the muck the whole way home. She is very picky about dirt, if her shirt gets wet she wants it off and she loves to put things in their place. She got her socks out yesterday and accidently put them in the wrong drawer. She had to take them out find the right drawer and put them back . She likes things put away just right. It is great to watch her arrange a blanket, it takes a lot of adjusting to get it just so.

Thank you AJ for my beautiful dress!!!!

Back together again

I got in late last night (will share details in another posting - had a fantastic trip! This morning I got to get K goose out of bed... As soon as I got her she started to coo and I sang with her in her rocking chair. She loved it and when I stopped and I asked if I should sing more I got a firm YES! R bought her a very cute dog and cat which she loved. The cat has little fuzzy claws on the end and so she became the bully chasing all the other cats around with her claws. She even chased us and tickled us with her tail... K loves her. The bow wow is also quite the hit with little bows and she keeps grabbing it to give big hugs.

I got her a doll from PB kids which is machine washable and is a clear favorite. The baby is being carried around everywhere, has already gotten a ton of na night time, been pushed around in the stroller and sat at the table while K ate her breakfast. I don't think she is going to let the doll go very far. We asked her about names and right now she thinks it should be Anna after her friend she went to Hawaii with earlier in the year. We will see if the name stays. MoCa even got an introduction when she layed down on the carpet. K immediately took the doll over and shrieked baby and put her on top of MoCa. MoCa wasn't as interested in the introduction.

DaDa & Grandma did a fantastic job with K and she did great without Mama around. Every once in a while she commented that Mama was in an airplane in the sky, which was quite cute. I sure got stuck in the sky for a while.

K girl

We have made a habit of going out to the park and enjoying the slide and play area. It has been really nice as we meet a neighbor with a girl one month older. K really likes it and has learned how to shake hands. She has fun with the slides and today we went down together.

We went to dinner to say good bye to pmogi who is off to DC for 6 months on Friday. K really had fun and is much better about eating out. It is still hard for me to eat, but we haven't even taken her out in so long... PMogi we will miss you and hope you have a wonderful trip. See you in Oct!!!! The mogis and mobro in DC! What fun...

Tonight I am going to see a girlfriend in Raleigh,NC. I am really going to miss our family. It has been a crazy week with a school project and a lot of work and just life. K was exceptionally sweet and I told her I was going on an airplane. We spent some extra time snuggling and reading books when I got home from work. The trip will be nice and quite relaxing to sleep in etc.

K got a balloon from twee twee at the market and loved it this weekend. She also had a great time playing in the water in LG. She also loved playing on the swings, but is having a fun time napping.

She also had a great time meeting S&A at Rancho. The animals were great and when I told her we were going to see animals she immediately asked for the giraffe from last week's trip to the zoo.

Pictures

K goose is 18 months old today!!!

The work day didn't allow for any super celebrations, but we sang happy bday to her throughout the day. She loved it and when we would ask her if we could stop singing the song she kept asking for more more...

I promised her to make her a cake this morning like when she turned one. Her response - thank you. The girl knows when to turn on the charm.

A nice evening of routine after being away from her for a few days. She gave lots more hugs and kisses, but otherwise was the same wonderful K goose.

Wow!

We had a fantastic trip... T and I went to Ojai for our 6 year wedding anniversary without K goose. This was our first trip without her. We missed her a ton, but also had a great great time. We drove home without getting dinner so we could try and get home for her. It was wonderful to see her and we let her stay up an hour past her bedtime. She loved her presents and as she opened each one she kept digging into the bag to see what else she got.

The grandmas did a great job with her and pmogi also visited.

Day one: meals at Tupelo Junction and Pasucchis in SB. Walking on the beach for a couple of hours plus shopping on State Street.

Day two: breakfast at Oak Grill, walk around our amazing resort, yoga class, spa for DMoGi and golf for TMoBro followed by a walk into town and dinner at a local seafood place.

Day three: rented bikes and biked into town for coffee and breakfast, biked around the area, played basketball at the resort, amazing lunch at Oak Grill, hung at pool, another yoga class and snuck on to the 17th tee to see the pink moment. Finished at the resort's pub.

Day four: breakfast at Oak Grill, relaxed in the resort's herb gardens -saw bunnies, a fox, beautiful gardens and just took in an amazing view. One final pool visit before hitting the road. Spent some wonderful time in Solvang and got amazing cheeses at the Epicurean Picnic and went wine tasting in the SB wine region.

I am a bit sore from the yoga classes, but we had such an amazing time together. It was the first time since our honeymoon that we took so many days to sit around and do nothing. We were planning our 7th anniversary when we were driving home yesterday. It was an awesome trip and we highly recommend the resort...

Family time

Some funny things about the last few days..

K loves to sing baa baa black sheep however she always sings baa baa bathroom, not sure how bathroom came into the picture, but it definitely is meant to be baa baa black sheep.

The zoo was a hit yesterday. We met B&A and had a great great time. The girls loved the swings, but K and I stayed later and stared at the lions for 40 plus minutes. Other highlights were the polar bears, the monkeys, the tigers and the penguins. We had a wonderful time exploring even though it was rather crowded.

Sleep has been a bit rough this week. She wants to stay up past bedtime until we finally set her in her bed.

We bought a tea set and it is a HIT! We have had 4-6 tea parties a day. The funny thing is that K decided they should be ice cream parties. I am not sure how she came to that conclusion (I didn't suggest a thing), but we have a great time with the tea parties... so do all the meow meows, dada and the grandmas.

Today when grandma came over she insisted at the end of our walk that she must have all her clothes off. So she walked around the neighborhood with no clothes. It was funny to see her shoes on and nothing else.

We are still working with the paper eating. For a while she was just wiping her nose etc. but today, she insisted on eating it which caused tears especially when I had to fish the paper out of her mouth. She even wiped MoCa's nose. MoCa rocks!! She let K goose use her tail to tickle K and my nose. She is an amazing cat... Today is our third anniversary as a family. Thank you MoCa for being a wonderful kitty.

She likes rotis and had some at grandmas yesterday after a tasty smoothie. She was still talking about them this morning in bed.

We are having a mommy baby spell these last few days... A bit hard as we are doing our first non-K trip tomorrow. She is in good hands with two fantastic grandmas.

Got rid of the highchair and are having a much easier time to get her to sit still and eat.

We have signs of one molar. Not sure when it will break through, but the area is swollen.
