K may be better

She hasn't thrown up yet... Who knows what the rest of the day will bring. She is still not feeling better and was already napping at 8:30 when I returned from the gym...

T got her a spare blackberry. It was slightly loved so after looking at it for a second this morning she looked at him and asked for the one spot it had to be taken off because it looked like dirt. We mentioned it wouldn't come off and she suggested we "wash" it. Very funny - the girl is very meticulous about being clean.

Football, more ponies and the stomach flu

K went to her first football game on Saturday. She had a great time tailgating enjoying snacks. The home team moved their fan section and so we ended up near the visiting team. K couldn’t have been more excited visiting the mascot, the cheerleaders and asking the meow meow (it was cougar) to come back. She tried to visit the cougar up close, but he scared her. We ended up with amazing seats and were in the second row close to the action. T also got special tickets so we were able to go to the press box, the directors section for her weekly ice cream which she insisted on holding even in the press box on the new carpet, on to the field, to the top of the stadium which had just been redone and was beautiful. K also joined us for peanuts at the goose and had a great time seeing all the other kids that were there. We dropped her home and met our friends for a relaxing dinner.

On Sunday we went for the standard coffee and market, but after 6 hours of sitting on Saturday we didn’t get our usual toy book time in the shop. Twee twee wasn’t at the market and when I asked her where he was she looked at me and said he was taking a nap. We often talk about the dogs that play at the dog park in our neighborhood and when we don’t see them she reminds me that they are na night, napping or eating. It is very funny. We also decided yesterday to go back to Half Moon Bay and so we went to the beach, she wasn’t as concerned about her toes getting dirty and was able to sit in the sand, play in little ocean puddles and enjoy the dogs. We had a wonderful lunch (OUTSIDE) at the Ritz and even used an umbrella because it was so warm. We went back for the pony ride on the way home and she was just as excited. At one point they stopped and she shook her whole body to try and get the horse to move. We followed by another relaxing dinner with our friends and excited about a fantastic weekend.

Unfortunately at 4am the nice weekend ended… K woke up crying with the stomach flu. We had to clean her bed and give her a bath in the middle of the night. She also threw up once more in the night and once before I left for work. She is obviously not feeling well – let’s hope this is over soon.

18 mth appt

K had her 18 month appt today - a lot of tears and not very happy with the shots or the examination. While we were chatting with the doctor she kept pointing to the door and saying out.. out... She would also look over at the door and ask for the doctor - clearly she had a different expectation of the doctor from the monkey book. She was excited about the doctor before going to the appointment and kept chatting about the doctor and going bye bye. The worst is over and one more shot in a few months. She is almost 34 inches and almost 24 pounds.

TV

On Monday night we showed K the video of her riding the horses. She was riveted. Today after I returned from the gym she walked over to the tv and said on. I asked her what she would like to watch - she replied neigh neighs. She proceeded over to the drawer where the remotes are kept, struggled to open it and brought me the remotes. Unfortunately we didn't have the time to get the video camera out and so we watched clifford the bow wow for a few minutes. I am not a tv fan so it was the first time I turned on a show for her and she was quite intrigued and laid down on one of her meow meows to watch. We will be watching the horse video again tonight!

She is still working on her eeking and today kept eeking and squealing. A true mogi!

K makes mornings nice

I am not a morning person, but the last few mornings K has made me look forward to our snuggle time. Tmobro gets up with K and brings her to me at 6:15 so he can get ready for work. We always lay and read 10 - 15 books together and chat and pretend to use the pillows as slides. The last couple mornings K has been extra snuggly. Yesterday when I was reaching to get more books out of the basket, she said back (rubbed by back and finished with a kiss). Very nice! Today after crawling in she snuggled with me. She is not a very snuggly girl so I gave her a cuddle and moved away. She quickly asked for more and we ended up spending 10 minutes snuggling. Nice!

Yesterday she counted from 1 -3. Exciting. We also spent the evening finding, breaking and throwing sticks. We also spent a bit of time throwing her around outside and as always when one parent tires of her tossing around she says one more and moves on to the other parent.

PIctures

Not an average HMB day

We took K to Burlingame on Saturday afternoon as she needs new clothes – on to the next size. I only wish I was lucky enough to get an entirely new wardrobe every 3 - 6 months. After an afternoon of shopping we went to dinner and since K had her dinner early in the afternoon she got the opportunity to have her weekly ice cream while T and I had dinner. We ordered a kid scoop only to receive 3 scoops of ice cream. She was so excited. We tried to slow her down by having her take sips of water and chatting so we could eat and also moderate the amount. Of course she was so excited to get the ice cream that she started to say more please while also making the sign for more. It was very cute and she definitely enjoyed the treat.

Yesterday was a fantastic day!!! After our standard Sunday visit to the farmers market and coffee we went to Half Moon Bay. K napped on the drive and when we got down to the ocean we woke her up and showed her the water. She was so excited and started shrieking ocean, ocean and we headed to the bench to look more. We were planning on just walking along the paths near the ocean, but the weather was so amazing and K was so excited we headed down to the beach. K was nervous about removing her shoes and kept requesting that we keep them on. We got them off, but caused her to spend a considerable amount of the time cleaning the sand off her feet. Regardless of the dirt aspect of the beach she loved running around with us and exploring little pools of water on this rock that T and her climbed. She was a bit nervous of running from the ocean when her feet were in the water, but as is K’s style loved the cautious fun of running from the water when we were 20 feet from the ocean. We also took her to the Ritz and she had a fantastic time being a greeter, dancing to the music, coloring with the crayons and having a lovely family lunch. She pretended that her cloth napkin was a blanket and pulled it up to her chin. After lunch she explored the resort grounds and collected rocks until her pants were so heavy that they began to fall off from the heavy load and all the maneuvering of getting the rocks in her pockets. The weather was stunning and made the hotel and beach a greater highlight of the trip than we expected. After the hotel and getting back to the car we stopped at this fantastic little farm off 92. K got to feed goats and held her hand out while they out of her hand, cheered for the train, shared a slice of a pumpkin pie as a family from the farm and the grand finale riding the pony. K has been really really into horses lately and trying to ride whatever she could pretending they were horses. When she saw the horses she was so excited to see them she couldn’t even wait for us to move her down the fence. The moment of riding the horse was a bit intense as she couldn’t be near us and the staff had to place her on the horse. She was so good about holding on and so excited to be on the horse that we will definitely be going back very soon. She was sad to see the ride end and so on the way out we stopped to let her say good bye to the horses. They tickled her hand with their noses and definitely made her love neigh neighs even more.

DaDa is strong...

In an attempt to remind K that she can do anything we often comment on the strength of her arms, body and legs. Today we were reading one of our favorite books My Dad about how strong the baby bear's dad is. Later in the day when I commented on her legs being strong she mentioned DaDa is big and strong. A couple hours later we mentioned her arm strength and she looked at me and reminded me "dada is strong and BIG" and that she also had strong legs... How could I (or my ribs) forget about the strength of those legs K goose? DaDa is a rock star!

I signed up for a personal trainer today (first time ever) and when we were going through my overall analysis, the right arm definitely showed how much I spend carrying K. The left arm was shaking with some of the weights while the right arm felt like it could take more. Let's see what the next few months with him does for that left arm. Another question - should I toss the stroller?

Nap war today with K drinking her milk sleeping in my arms - into the crib screaming and wanting to be held followed by 20 minutes of crying and no nap. It makes me so sad to not be able to put her down for naps. I want to be able to do it all.

What a week

Things have flown by due to a hectic week at work.

K had a fun weekend and enjoyed Saturday (with no nap) ok not a fun day for anyone. Sunday however was the standard farmers market festivities with a stop at the shopping center for some fantastic time at the water and even a tasty cookie. We signed her up for the kids club.

This week she improved her verbal skills and was able to have two - three question conversations. (dada - tell mama what you saw. K moon, M wow, D and what else, K stars, M again Wow!) She was very excited to see me come home from being away and when I walked in the door she said home... It was very cute. I sang her baa baa on the way home from the city and she loved it and showed her appreciation by pressing almost every button on the phone. We even talked about Anna's shoes being on or off. Of course they must be on! Today we were on the way home from the mom's group and she saw our neighborhood from quite far away and said home. I asked if she wanted to play, she told me nap and milk, which is precisely what she did.

K offered MoCa tea today. She didn't quite understand why MoCa wouldn't play tea party with her and offered her the fork and the spoon.

She had a great time at mom's group playing with all the toys and exploring. We had fun riding around on Thomas until mommy threw her off (accidentally) and ended the game.

Hmmm.

Once again K got up on Wed night at 1am and napped off and on (more off than on) from 1am - 4am. She was up at 4am for the day and stayed up till 9:30 for a 40 minute nap. Not sure why she is not sleeping and not sure why she thinks mommy is party mommy. When I come in during the night she wants to go downstairs, read books, sing songs, the lists go on. When T goes in she asks for me and goes back to sleep. I don't get it.

Grandma and K were talking about going shopping yesterday. When asked what would she get if she were to go shopping - a firm answer "Neigh Neigh" (horse). She loves horses and anything she can sit on ride on (starbucks chair, stuffed animals, comforters, pillows) are all neigh neighs.

We had a great time at the moms group - it had been so long since she had gone. K insisted on taking Anna (the doll). She was also less clingy and more open to adventuring and finding toys etc. She sat in LG's booster chair and as it is made by the same company as her potty kept referring to it as the bathroom.. She really enjoyed the popcorn and kept insisting that her plate be kept at a full level. (we know where she developed her love for popcorn).

We also went to see a friend's 8 week puppy. I am not sure who was more excited to see one another. K loved the puppy, but eventually decided to sit on my lap and just squeal. My friend served her ice cream and so I am sure K was deciding how to move in.

This morning we went for our weekly Borrone trip. We got there early as always, but it was too crowded. When I asked K last night what she wanted to do in the morning instead of borrone or keplers. She looked at me and suggested ice cream. I told her that wasn't a morning treat at least not for a few years. I still remember years ago when we were on vacation and my mom let me have a banana split for breakfast. Funny how I don't remember any other breakfast items I ordered.

The evenings in the neighborhood park are becoming bigger and bigger and K was very sad more S who had a few bumps last night. Today she continued to chat about S's nose and the fact that it was running from crying.

Another highlight is the moon. She loves the moon, loves watching it, going to look for it and talking about it. We visit it every night before bed. I will bring the camera to capture the excitement on her face when she spots it so I can post it. It is amazing.

Yeah! the weekend is ahead.

Pics (photo shoot by my friend TB)

A post from K goose

I love weekends!! I love spending time with Mom and Dad because we always do lots of fun things. Some highlights from my weekend:

Getting to Keplers and Cafe Borrone so early that Mom took the chairs down in the kids section for me to arrange. Grandma got me a book called Gorilla Gorilla. I love it and have made mom and dad read it every night.

I saw lots of babies and got to visit some of them. When babies cry I get very sad. I know when they are having tantrums and so I ignore those, but their crying makes me very sad.

I went to Grandma's house for dinner had yummy food and got to play with all the stuffed animals she keeps for me. I also got to say hi to TF (grandma's meow meow).

Grandma came over and played with me while Mommy cleaned the house. I love our visits even though this week I was a bit tired as my first two molars are coming in. It hurts and made me get up at 2:30 Friday night - I dozed off, but didn't take a nap till 10:30am.

I got to go to the swings with Dad and loved it.

I went to Target and Trader Joes (got a balloon, lamb, meow meow and ball). I love errands I don't understand why we don't do them more. I am not quite sure why my mom and dad laughed when I picked up two copies of the Dixies Chicks cd at Target. Dad something about giving up - I wonder if it is because it is one of my mom's favorite bands.

I got to meet T& M& D at the farmers market and show T Twee Tweee, the music and all the tasty samples. I met a little boy while waiting for my friends at the coffee shop we visit every Sunday. He had a neat zebra - I played with the zebra and knocked down all the animals. Not a nice zebra. However I enjoyed trading all my animals.

I went to Los Gatos and explored the stores and had a tasty ice cream. I love mint chip ice cream. I also saw a shirt at Gymboree with two bow wows. It made me want to take my dress off and put the shirt on.

I enjoyed Whole Foods and all the tasty samples, I was brave and tried some cheese that had chives in it. Normally that is too strong for me. I even got another balloon - my mommy accidentally let my balloon from Trader Joes fly away.

I went to Santa Cruz and met my friends S&R. I got to visit their house and see their kitties and play with their kitty toys. I also really enjoyed our walk after breakfast where we got to see the ocean. We also had a nice time in downtown. I got very sleepy and fell asleep while my mommy was walking around. I didn't want to lay down in my stroller so mommy carried me while we walked around.

The weekdays are also very nice as I play with Grandma until mommy and daddy get home. After they get home during the week we visit the park and sometimes even wander over to the bow wows. I love bow wows and kitties and got to visit a number of them this weekend.

Most of all I love MoCa. I wish I was old enough to pick her up. She is such a neat big sister. I put my shirt on her this evening and my sunglasses on her this morning. She looked very nice and didn't mind the sunglasses at all. Ok maybe a little bit, but she put up with it.

More later and thanks for reading about me!!!
