Not an average HMB day

We took K to Burlingame on Saturday afternoon as she needs new clothes – on to the next size. I only wish I was lucky enough to get an entirely new wardrobe every 3 - 6 months. After an afternoon of shopping we went to dinner and since K had her dinner early in the afternoon she got the opportunity to have her weekly ice cream while T and I had dinner. We ordered a kid scoop only to receive 3 scoops of ice cream. She was so excited. We tried to slow her down by having her take sips of water and chatting so we could eat and also moderate the amount. Of course she was so excited to get the ice cream that she started to say more please while also making the sign for more. It was very cute and she definitely enjoyed the treat.

Yesterday was a fantastic day!!! After our standard Sunday visit to the farmers market and coffee we went to Half Moon Bay. K napped on the drive and when we got down to the ocean we woke her up and showed her the water. She was so excited and started shrieking ocean, ocean and we headed to the bench to look more. We were planning on just walking along the paths near the ocean, but the weather was so amazing and K was so excited we headed down to the beach. K was nervous about removing her shoes and kept requesting that we keep them on. We got them off, but caused her to spend a considerable amount of the time cleaning the sand off her feet. Regardless of the dirt aspect of the beach she loved running around with us and exploring little pools of water on this rock that T and her climbed. She was a bit nervous of running from the ocean when her feet were in the water, but as is K’s style loved the cautious fun of running from the water when we were 20 feet from the ocean. We also took her to the Ritz and she had a fantastic time being a greeter, dancing to the music, coloring with the crayons and having a lovely family lunch. She pretended that her cloth napkin was a blanket and pulled it up to her chin. After lunch she explored the resort grounds and collected rocks until her pants were so heavy that they began to fall off from the heavy load and all the maneuvering of getting the rocks in her pockets. The weather was stunning and made the hotel and beach a greater highlight of the trip than we expected. After the hotel and getting back to the car we stopped at this fantastic little farm off 92. K got to feed goats and held her hand out while they out of her hand, cheered for the train, shared a slice of a pumpkin pie as a family from the farm and the grand finale riding the pony. K has been really really into horses lately and trying to ride whatever she could pretending they were horses. When she saw the horses she was so excited to see them she couldn’t even wait for us to move her down the fence. The moment of riding the horse was a bit intense as she couldn’t be near us and the staff had to place her on the horse. She was so good about holding on and so excited to be on the horse that we will definitely be going back very soon. She was sad to see the ride end and so on the way out we stopped to let her say good bye to the horses. They tickled her hand with their noses and definitely made her love neigh neighs even more.
